Meet Dr. Gabor Sass
With over 20 years of experience in program development and management as well as teaching and facilitation in both academic and community settings, Dr. Gabor Sass's passionate advocacy for urban agriculture in London is a welcome addition at both The PATCH and GrowAbility.
From helping to organize events such as the Urban Agriculture Conference in 2016 with the City of London and London Public Library, initiating community projects such as the award-winning Wood St Park Food Forest, Gabor is an active and vital part of the environmental stewardship community. In 2019 he served as the City of London’s inaugural Environmentalist-in-Residence giving workshops on different environmental themes including urban agriculture to both children and adults.
Since 2015, Gabor's leadership of the Kensington Village Association saw countless community projects and events such as community celebrations, indigenous ceremonies, concerts and gardening projects. In 2021 he helped initiate KEVA’s Boulevard Veggie Patch project which aims to produce food for people in need, mirroring the mission of the PATCH project.
In his spare time, Gabor loves to garden around his home and in neighbourhood parks as well as play music with family, friends and neighbours.
